JMD HELPING HAND EMPOWERING WOMEN
In our long history, women have always had to depend on others for a source of income, be it their parents or husband. But in this era, the world is changing. Women are emerging as self-sufficient beings who can take care of themselves. Sadly, this is not the case for all women. Even today, in many backward areas, women are not independent.
Many times, the situations hold them back from doing anything. In poor areas, women can’t even manage two meals a day for their children. They want to work, but they don’t have any money to invest in the first place.
JMD Helping Hand is trying to help some women by providing them with employment. In a small district of Punjab, there is a small chawl where there are a group of many unemployed people, especially women. Even if they are employed, they are not getting their pay on time. Majority of them didn’t even receive their payments after six months.
JMD Helping Hand went there and heard a couple of women. Most of them shared the same thought that if given a chance they would love to work and put food in the plates of their children. Most of them also said that they would like to do tailoring. Then it was decided to give them what they want. Multiple sewing machines were arranged and were distributed among the ladies of that district. They showed their utmost gratitude to the organisation and were happy that they will finally be able to become self-sufficient. JMD Helping Hand is taking one step towards forming a better and self-sufficient society.
